Students for Public Interest Law

Students for Public Interest Law (SPIL), founded in 1989, is an Associate Member of the National Association for Public Interest Law (NAPIL). SPIL was organized to further our law school's commitment to providing legal services in public interest.
SPIL organizes and participates in numerous community service and pro bono activities to provide students with experience in public interest law. SPIL also organizes the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) study guide and used book sales.
SPIL's biggest event is the Annual SPIL Live and Silent Auction, held in the Spring Semester. Every year, the auction raises approximately $25,000 to go towards as many as 18 summer stipends for CUA law students working in public interest. This year’s auction will be held on February 12, 2016. The theme this year is Mardi Gras Masquerade. Please join us for what will be a great event for a worthy cause!
Please contact our 2015-2016 co-Presidents Norah Sloss or Nicole Chauriye with any questions or comments.
